Webhelp Teams Triumph in Challenge Lisboa
Leading global customer experience expert Webhelp is celebrating the success of its three teams in last weekend’s (Sunday, May 7) Challenge Lisboa event.
Starting just 400m from the door of Webhelp’s multilingual hub in Lisbon, the race featured three stages – a 1.9km swim in the Atlantic, a 90km cycle and a 21km run (or half marathon).
Webhelp fielded two teams in the corporate relay section, where each part of the race is completed by a different team member, and one person in the solo section. All members of the teams are based in the UK and are unused to the Portuguese weather which saw temperatures in the high 30s during the race.
Despite the difficult conditions, the Webhelp teams put in fantastic performances of under six hours, with one of the corporate relay teams taking sixth place on the podium and potentially qualifying for the finals in June.
Team One, comprised Webhelp’s global sales unit director, Mike Purvis, who completed the swim, global director of research and development, Dave Pattman the cycle and UK chief operating officer, Anton Manley the run, finished in 5h 50m.
Team Two, featured Richard Carr, environmental and contract support manager, who completed the swim and the run and business development director Rob Liley on the bike. This team took a podium finish with a time of 4h 34m.
Webhelp’s solo entrant, data and analytics director, Chris Bryson, put in a great performance with a time of 5h 49m.
