It represents the partial evolution beyond the current state of Web2, involving integration of Web3 blockchain technology artifacts,” the authors of the report wrote. “Gartner believes that provenance authentication solutions will be in more demand in the coming years, especially as generative AI supports easy creation of “deepfake” objects and content. Blockchain provides an immutable record and audit trail for provenance applications.”
